WRITING YOUR LIFE
with Dan Keane
How do you write down a life? Your memories are eager to be captured, but the blank page can be daunting indeed. Join Dan Keane for a series of warm, insightful workshops that explore various paths into autobiographical writing and offer simple, accessible techniques for bringing your stories to life.
The Everyday Haiku
Tuesday, March 3
6 - 7:30pm
Simple, earthy, and short as a text message—the haiku is a poetic form old as the hills but accessible to all. Reading serious and silly examples from haiku’s greatest masters, Dan Keane will reveal simple, powerful techniques to capture your own days in bite-sized but elegant verse.
What you will learn:
- Go beyond counting syllables
- Haiku as small talk: seasons, animals, neighbours
- How to nail the perfect quiet ending
