How to Write a Journey
We travel to see the world - and to find stories to tell. Using great travel-writing examples from Aotearoa and beyond, Dan Keane will show you how to turn your own journeys - both near and far - into memorable stories to keep in your journal and share with friends, family and across all your corners of the internet.
This workshop includes free postcards that will be mailed right from our workshop.
What you can expect to learn:- How to embrace the outsider’s eye
- How to avoid the traveler’s cliches
- When travel stories belong to you—and when they belong to the place you visit
This workshop is suitable for creative souls at all levels. Everyone is welcome.
Participants of this workshop receive a complimentary Traveler's Company lined notebook (value $10.90) - perfect for writing on the go.
Please bring along your favourite writing tool.

This workshop is presented as part of the The New Zealand Stationery Festival.
You do not need to purchase a ticket to the Stationery Festival in order to attend this event, but it is highly recommended that you do. Attendees without a Stationery Festival ticket will not receive a tote bag, and will only have access to Cobblestones 15 minutes before the class begins.
Do not worry if you can't get a time-entry ticket for the Festival that is before your class begins - if you have a class ticket AND a Festival ticket we will honour whichever is the earliest.
