NZ STATIONERY FESTIVAL: What the Washi? with Yvonne Nikolaison

Saturday, January 9th, 2027
2:30pm - 3:30pm

Creating a Washi Tape Journal Page

Have you ever wondered what to do with washi tape, or even what the heck it is?

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll build a full double page journal spread using washi tape, and you’ll leave with a finished project as well as plenty of ideas to keep going at home.

Here’s what you'll learn:

  • How to plan and build a double page layout using washi tape
  • What a tip in is and how to make one
  • How to use washi to frame a photo or quote
  • How to create simple borders, dividers and pockets with tape
  • Ways to bring in lists, trackers or small notes alongside the tape

All attendees will receive two rolls of washi tape from Yvonne Nikolaison Studio to take home and keep the creativity going.

Please bring your a notebook and pens to this workshop.

This workshop is presented as part of the The New Zealand Stationery Festival. You do not need to purchase a ticket to the Stationery Festival in order to attend this event, but it is highly recommended that you do. Attendees without a Stationery Festival ticket will not receive a tote bag, and will only have access to Cobblestones 15 minutes before the class begins.

Do not worry if you can't get a time-entry ticket for the Festival that is before your class begins - if you have a class ticket AND a Festival ticket we will honour whichever is the earliest.
