This pen holder clips onto the cover of your notebook or planner using the brass clip on the back. The wide, flat clip is The Superior Labor's original design, made from solid brass. It lets you carry two pens simply and securely—always together with your notebook.
Made from Tochigi Leather, a vegetable-tanned leather carefully processed through pit tanning over an extended period. The leather is then treated with oil throughout its core to create a pull-up finish. When folded or bent, the oils shift slightly, producing subtle lightened areas and a unique, lived-in character.
A thin resin coating is applied to the surface, giving it a smooth, dry-to-the-touch feel. The leather fibres are tightly structured and firm, yet the abundant oils give it a soft, supple, and slightly springy texture, making it a pleasure to touch and use over time.
Founded by husband and wife team Makoto and Yoshimi Kawai, The Superior Labor is focused on producing goods in small batches, to the absolute highest quality. Goods that are durable, functional and showcase true craftsmanship.
Many items in the range incorporate elements and influence from the auto repair and vintage clothing industries. The small factory is a historic school building originally built in 1949, now dedicated to Superior Labor production.
