Our friends and neighbours at The White Swan Hotel are taking part in this year's Wellington on a Plate Burger Wellington competition. This year's theme is Word of Mouth, and over 200 restaurants across the region have created burgers inspired by that idea.

The White Swan's creation is called 'Talk Birdy to Me' - it's a chicken burger with all the trimmings, including a chicken skin cracker and a side of chips and gravy.

It comes wrapped in a little library of classic book spines, with a voucher for Mrs Blackwell's tucked inside. Bring it in to us - no matter how greasy - for a discount!

We think Word of Mouth is the perfect theme because it's how small towns work. The White Swan has always been generous about sharing other local businesses with their guests, and we're delighted to be part of that story this year.

Beverages are not included, but there will be a martini promotion on the night which you can purchase separately from the bar, or any other beverage of your choice.
