EVENT: Books at the Wine Bar - A Silent Reading Party

Unlike a book group which often involves awkward chat, this is an evening quietly reading in an inviting wine bar with others.

Bring along your book, purchase a beverage and some food, and enjoy an hour or more of uninterrupted reading time with like-minded souls.

You can come along as a group, but many people do come to Books at the Bar on their own - everyone is welcome. If you come along on your own, you can join a table with other independent readers, chat if you want to, or just get started for an extra long reading session. No judgement!

This event is our annual fundraiser for the Greytown Festival of Christmas and you can buy raffle tickets to further our effort. We'll also have raffle tickets available on the day if you want extra or regret not buying one with your reading ticket. Raffle tickets on the day will be cash only.

The prize draws will include:

• A $100 voucher for Mrs Blackwell’s Village Bookshop

• 6 new or recently released books in a Mrs Blackwell’s Village Bookshop army green tote bag

• A Greytown Distilling Company Pack (you must be 18+ to win this prize)

• A signed, first edition copy of Nick Offerman's Little Woodchucks

• Plus other prizes to be revealed on the day

Sunday February 1st at Alexia Urban Winery

• Winery reserved for Silent Readers from 3pm - arrive for food, wine and first dibs on seats!

• Silent reading between 3.30 - 4.30pm

• 4:05pm - Raffle prizes drawn (winners must be present)

Afterward, you can quietly slip out (we won’t judge), or stay and engage in some not-so-small talk with your fellow readers.

Refunds: this event is non-refundable, but you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person.
