In 1960, the Accutron Spaceview changed how people looked at a watch by placing its inner workings at the center of the design. The newest Esterbrook x Accutron collaboration carries that idea into the Estie, creating a transparent writing instrument that allows its construction to be seen from every angle.
The Spaceview is the first transparent demonstrator Estie produced by Esterbrook. Its polished acrylic cap and barrel reveal the threads, connectors, filling system, and internal writing components that are usually concealed. An Accutron green acrylic grip draws from the signature colour of the Spaceview watch, complemented by bronze-toned finials and gold-plated metalwork visible through the clear body.
Accutron's tuning fork emblem appears across the pen, including a lacquered emblem set into the top dome, the custom cap band, and the gold-plated fountain pen nib. Esterbrook branding is integrated across the design and packaging, bringing both names together without distracting from the transparent construction.
The fountain pen includes Esterbrook's cushion-cap closure system and uses a cartridge and converter filling system, both visible through the barrel.
A demonstrator pen is made with a transparent or semi-transparent body that allows you to see the components inside. Originally used by pen makers to demonstrate filling systems and internal mechanics, demonstrators have since become popular with collectors for the way they put the construction of the pen on display.

The Esterbrook Estie made The Pen Addicts Top 5 Fountain Pens in the USD$100-$200 range. This cateogry is important, in Pen Addicts' own words: "If and when you get into fountain pens, this category gives you everything you need. Quality, performance, style, options - everything. I’d skip the $50-$100 range in all honesty."
