There are approximately ten-billion-trillion stars in the entire observable Universe. That’s a little more than the number of grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth.

What exactly are stars? How long do they live? How hot are they?

The answers to these questions and many more are answered in this book put out by the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Dr. Greg Brown, the author is an astronomer working at the Royal Observatory Greenwich. In his time in research at the University of Warwick, he studied some of the largest explosions in the Universe and the supermassive black holes hiding in distant galaxies. Combining a love of science, comedy and acting, Greg moved into science communication.
